“Old Fashioned” / Western-Style Filet Mignon

This is a classic “old fashioned” style filet mignon.

Most of the time, an amazing filet mignon needs nothing more than a good piece of meat, some salt and pepper, some butter/oil, and some well-timed temperature control in a pan.

An inside family joke about this is, “don’t let teriyaki sauce touch my filet!”

The recommended cook is a medium-rare/medium depending on the filet.
